The Lake Erie project, the first freshwater offshore wind farm in the U.S., will use GE’s next-generation wind turbine, the largest in its product line, designed specifically for offshore deployment. AEI China Power Limited has acquired 67 percent of NBT (Baicheng) New Energy Development Company, Ltd., a company formed in China that recently began construction on the 49.5MW first phase of a 200MW wind farm in Baicheng, Jilin Province, China. AEI acquired the equity from a subsidiary of NBT AS, a Norwegian wind farm developer focused on promoting renewable energy in China.

Skykon has recently acquired facilities of 100,000 square metres at Lindoe Shipyard, the most advanced former shipyard in Europe, for the purpose of developing an offshore product offer to offshore wind projects located close to the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
Located at Lindoe, Denmark, Skykon's offshore production facilities are second-to-none in the market, and they have direct access to sea by means of an on-site harbour capable of accommodating vessels in draught of 7.5 metres.

Siemens has indicated its intention to invest in excess of £80m to develop an offshore wind turbine production facility in the UK. Siemens' offshore wind turbine production facility will create 700 jobs. Siemens is currently exploring a number of sites on the East Coast and in the North East and will make its decision about the exact location when the competition process for land development is complete.
