Baze Technology and Natural Power selected for the Sheringham Shoal wind farm

The Sheringham Shoal wind farm, located approx 20 km off the coast of Norfolk, England, will consist of 88 x 3.6MW wind turbines giving a total capacity of 317MW when fully operational. Trelleborg Offshore has developed a unique elastomeric spring bearing to improve the stability of the 90-monopole wind turbine foundations at the Sheringham Shoal Wind Farm, currently being installed off the coast of Norfolk in the UK. Trelleborg supplied Scira Offshore Energy Ltd, the project owners, with 600 of the bespoke steel and rubber bearings, designed to reduce stress on the grouted connection in the wind turbine foundation.
