UK orders for Evance’s Iskra R9000 small wind turbine have increased by 300 percent since the Government announced its support for small wind with its new feed in tariffs, part of its Renewable Energy strategy.

The American Wind Energy Association’s (AWEA) Small Wind Turbine Global Study (Year Ending 2008) projects a 30-fold growth in installed small wind capacity in the US within five years. Much of this estimated growth will be spurred by the new eight-year 30% federal Investment Tax Credit augmented in February 2009.

A new grants database, launched by small wind turbine manufacturer Evance and its main UK distributor Segen, will help UK farmers to find which grants they are entitled to for the purchase and installation of a small wind turbine.
