Technip tests Vertiwind prototype of a vertical-axis offshore floating wind turbine

Technip in association with Nénuphar, Converteam and EDF Energies nouvelles has launched the Vertiwind project to test a pre-industrial prototype of a vertical-axis offshore floating wind turbine. Hywind floating wind turbine inaugurated

Technip has joined StatoilHydro in celebrating the inauguration of the Hywind demonstration wind turbine, which took place last week in Karmøy, Norway. Located 10 kilometers offshore Karmøy, Hywind is the first full-scale floating wind turbine and has a capacity of 2.3 MW.
