Consense has announced a new project for ScottishPower Renewables. Consense, a division of marketing agency 2Cs, specialises in community engagement websites and online consultations and is currently working for twenty wind farm and property developers.

The system developed by Consense helps businesses in the renewables sector to involve more of the community in their proposals. At present Consense is running 42 online consultations for over 1GW of proposed power – that is enough renewable energy to power over half a million homes. The company has also managed to double their client base in just one year.

ScottishPower Renewables, which is part of Iberdrola Renewables, the world’s biggest producer of renewable energy, has commissioned Consense to develop a master system that will be used to run online consultations for a number of proposed wind farms. Now live for their Queniborough and Lenchwick wind farms, ScottishPower is intending to use the system for a number of projects that are going into planning over the coming months.

Derek Christie, Marketing and Communications Executive at ScottishPower Renewables comments: “We are keen to open up community engagement to more local people, not just those who come along to our consultations events. The Consense system enables us to capture a broader range of opinion and makes it easy for us to manage the feedback we receive.”

Consense helps windfarm developers and house builders run wide-reaching, successful community consultations to support their planning applications. The team at Consense also manages a variety of other consultation strategy and support activities such as political audits, public exhibitions, newsletters, advertising and PR.
